Victory and Defeat in the Promised Land

Last week we read about a man who went about doing things his own way, for example he > worshipped his own private gods, consecrated his own private priest, and did this in accordance to his own private interpretation, this was in line to the theme verse in Judges 17:6- “in those days there was no king in Israel: everyone did what was right in his own eyes” after cultivating these things he thought God was now obligated to bless him > Judg 17:13.
